In the tarot, The Hanged Man symbolizes a perspective shift, a pause, surrender and acceptance of one's fate. We all cling to stories that no longer serve us. We loop them until we grow tired of our own mental suffocation.
Ask Amy is the space to shift the frame. In stillness, in being witnessed, in allowing your grip on how things need to go to soften, releasing your identification with it. Surrender isn't tolerance of harm done. It's a letting go to create peace and flow back into your life, your thinking, your body.
In that space I'm offering a different approach, an opposite point of view, or simply reminding you that you can't see from all sides at once. The goal is to gently pry open a rigid idea that is holding you hostage and keeping you from peace.

Beyond this as an offering to others, I've had to learn to do this for myself and also allow for outside voices to help me see when I couldn't. I often have to remember that I don't know what I don't know. I have taken the journeys, done the meditations, joined the circles to widen my own view and yet, I still need help from others to see what I just can't see. This helps me to go beyond my rigid thinking. This is one of my greatest challenges and it is also one of my greatest gifts. I’m now offering this to you.
Surrender can be scary as we stand at its threshold not yet passing through. It can seem as if we might lose ourselves or let someone get away with something. From my own lived experience, I know that we don't lose ourselves. We actually step into our power and our sight becomes much clearer. Of course, we don't know that until we actually step through. I'm always honored when I'm chosen as a hand to help another step through just as I am honored when someone offers me theirs.
